Here's the edited selection of last week's practice. Radio Free USA and War of the Worlds have never been recorded before. The quality ain't great, but at least they're preserved for posterity now.
Now on to the new songs: Eli Started Crying is one that Jeremy came up with that morning, but like Colerige, was unable to finish due to an interuption. Who knows what greatness was lost that day. Perhaps a really nice bridge.
Experiment 1 has been around two practices now and it's seems to have taken its final form. I love that in this clip the song doesn't actually gel until twenty seconds after we start playing. Now we just need words, which I have been imagining in the voice of the guy from the Decembrists. Maybe we need to start calling this 'The Electric Flamenco' instead--'Experiment 1' sounds so sci-fi rock. If there is such a thing. That's just not what we're about. Nope, we don't have any songs based on science fiction books at all.
Finally, there's Richard's Found Art: a tiny three-second piece of something Jeremy had done the practice before that got stuck in my head, and then expanded into a verse/chorus-y thing. Once we get the bridge worked out and some words this could be a nice song.
