We decided that our robot would start life at the age of 18. The advantages to this were obvious: he would have finished the majority of growth and the introduction to college provided a way to sever childhood ties with a minimum of suspicion. He has few high school friends, a small family and rarely talks about the past. If you want a good laugh, ask Jeremy about his past. Nine out of ten questions which require him to remember the past will be met with a blank stare and “I don’t remember”.

We decided that it would require too many resources to provide him with a complete past. Also, it is impossible to disprove any “facts” from his past, since he doesn’t remember them. The people he does remember and interact with(family, friends, etc.) are part of the project and are careful not to say too much.

As I said before, the project has been an immense success. No one suspects that a robot walks in their midst, least of all Jeremy. He is able to interact in normal society without any major problems. He is one of the more empirical people you’ll ever meet and his sense of humor is a bit skewed, but everything is within the acceptable parameters.
